Curea P1
Curea P1 is a superabsorbent wound dressing developed to provide effective fluid management in wounds with moderate to high exudate. Its highly absorbent core rapidly gels exudate, reducing the risk of leakage and periwound maceration and creating a balanced moist environment in the wound bed. Its non-adherent contact surface protects newly formed tissue, makes dressing changes more comfortable and offers a clinically predictable healing process.

What is it?
An advanced superabsorbent wound dressing that rapidly absorbs fluid and securely locks it inside, particularly in highly exuding wounds, reducing the risk of periwound maceration.
What is it made of?
Curea superabsorbent dressings are built on a multilayer structure. The top layer is a nonwoven interface that reduces adherence to the wound surface and lets fluid pass rapidly into the inner layers. Thanks to this nonwoven surface, Curea P1 dressings allow “soft debridement” during dressing changes. In the middle is a retention core combining superabsorbent polymers (SAP) with cellulose fibers — the patented SuperCore layer. This core does not merely absorb exudate; it also prevents its release, securely locking it in together with bacteria and enzymes. The outer layer is a protective layer that is impermeable to fluid yet allows the wound to breathe, reducing the risk of leakage while maintaining a moist healing environment.
Why use it?
The assessments and comparisons in this section are the manufacturer’s own statements. Use of the product in a patient requires assessment by a physician.
This sterile, single-use construction is designed to combine fluid distribution, a high fluid retention capacity and prevention of exudate release.
Particularly in wounds with moderate to high exudate, the Curea superabsorbent dressing does not just absorb fluid but securely locks it in, significantly reducing the risk of periwound maceration and contamination. Thanks to a higher retention capacity than conventional foam dressings and gauze, it can extend dressing change intervals and reduces the care burden and costs. By keeping the moisture balance stable, it supports the transition to granulation and epithelialization; its nonwoven surface makes soft debridement possible. From a clinical perspective, Curea makes exudate management more predictable and safer.
The Curea superabsorbent dressing is indicated for the management of wounds with moderate to high exudate. It is particularly effective in venous leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, post-traumatic and post-surgical wounds, and heavily draining surfaces after debridement. It can be used safely under compression therapy (e.g. in venous ulcers) and, together with appropriate antimicrobial approaches, supports exudate control in infected or suspected infected wounds.

How to use
- 01
Assess the wound
Carry out an initial assessment to determine the approach the wound requires.
- 02
Cleanse the wound
Debride appropriately if required.
- 03
Choose a size larger than the wound
Curea should cover the entire wound surface and leave a margin at the edges so that it can draw up exudate.
- 04
Place the dressing with the non-adherent side facing the wound and apply suitable secondary fixation (bandage/film) over it. Where compression is required, it can be applied over the fixation.
- 05
The change interval is determined by the amount of exudate and the clinical picture; change earlier in case of oversaturation, leakage or clinical need.
