Burns and tissue loss
A burn wound is a wound caused by thermal injury, in which the integrity of the skin is disrupted and the affected tissues are damaged. The depth and extent of the burn are among the key factors that determine the degree of tissue damage and the clinical significance of the wound.

Temporary biological dressing for second-degree and selected third-degree burns; high-capacity absorbent for painful surfaces. The order follows the treatment journey; where a stage offers more than one option, the exudate level and the clinical picture determine the choice.
Assessment and cleansing
Wound type, depth and bioburden are assessed; the surface is cleansed by irrigation.

Necrotic tissue, fibrin and biofilm are removed while respecting viable tissue.
