What is it?
RTD Gentell Blue is an absorbent polyurethane foam wound dressing containing methylene blue, gentian violet and silver sodium zirconium phosphate.
What is it made of?
RTD Gentell Blue is a highly porous, sponge-like polyurethane foam dressing whose methylene blue (0.25 mg/g), gentian violet (0.25 mg/g) and silver sodium zirconium phosphate (7 mg/g) are bound during manufacture. This structure keeps the antimicrobial agents fixed within the foam without leaching freely onto the surface, while exudate is wicked vertically along capillary channels and held in the foam core. The dressing is one-piece, contains no adhesive and is ready to use with suitable secondary fixation.

Compared with conventional polymeric membrane dressings, RTD Gentell Blue is a solution designed specifically, first and foremost, for biofilm and high microbial load; by combining methylene blue, gentian violet and controlled-release silver within the same foam matrix, it places the antimicrobial effect at the very heart of the product. With its very high vertical absorption capacity, it rapidly draws exudate away from the wound surface and reduces the risk of periwound maceration and leakage, a clear advantage particularly in heavily exuding wounds and wounds that are infected or at high risk of infection. Holding the silver in a controlled way within an ion-exchange mineral structure offers a gentler tissue profile than free silver, while contributing to the protection of granulation tissue and better tolerance of the dressing. RTD Gentell Blue can therefore be positioned as a top-tier option that does not merely “cleanse and moisturize” but simultaneously provides exudate management + biofilm targeting + an antimicrobial barrier.
RTD Gentell Blue is designed for use in chronic wounds with moderate to high exudate that are infected or at high risk of infection. It is preferred in diabetic foot ulcers, venous/arterial ulcers, pressure ulcers, hard-to-heal wounds with suspected biofilm, traumatic and surgical wounds and partial-thickness burns, to support reduction of the microbial load alongside safe exudate management. Where a moist but balanced wound bed environment is needed and the risk of maceration must be reduced, it is suitable for use subject to clinical assessment and with appropriate secondary fixation.

How to use

Assess the wound
Assess signs of infection, the amount of exudate, the presence of biofilm/slough and the condition of the periwound skin.

Cleanse / debride if necessary
Where clinically required, prepare the wound bed with appropriate cleansing and debridement.

Choose a suitable size
Choose a dressing that covers the entire wound area and leaves an absorbent margin at the edges; apply it without wrinkling.

Place and secure the RTD
Position the foam surface in contact with the wound bed; apply suitable secondary fixation over it (film, bandage, compression if needed).
- 05
Set the change interval
Individualize the change interval according to the amount of exudate and the clinical picture; change earlier in case of oversaturation, leakage, malodor or clinical deterioration.
- 06
Reassess at every change
Monitor granulation, pain, odor and signs of infection; update the treatment plan accordingly.
