Suture Strip Plus
Suture Strip Plus is a sterile wound closure strip that brings skin edges together, designed for the non-invasive closure of superficial, low-tension wounds. Its gentle structure reduces tension along the wound line, helping to control the risk of dehiscence, and it can also be used for post-suture support. Because it is quick to apply, it shortens procedure time, increases patient comfort and contributes to minimizing scarring.

What is it?
Sterile adhesive wound closure strips used as an alternative to sutures, or as suture support, in superficial wounds with even edges.
What is it made of?
Suture Strip Plus consists of a medical-grade hypoallergenic acrylic adhesive applied to a microporous nonwoven backing. Its flexible yet tensile-resistant structure provides the mechanical strength to hold opposing wound edges in place, while the microporous structure lets air and moisture pass, helping the skin breathe. It is latex-free, supplied sterile, and its skin-contact surface is designed to minimize irritation.
Why use it?
The assessments and comparisons in this section are the manufacturer’s own statements. Use of the product in a patient requires assessment by a physician.
In superficial wounds with even edges, it supports epithelialization by securely approximating the wound edges without the need for sutures. Being non-invasive, it helps reduce the risk of infection and scarring, shorten application time and increase patient comfort. When used as post-suture support, it reduces tension along the wound line, contributing to a lower risk of dehiscence* and making the care process more predictable. (Dehiscence is the separation of the edges of a wound or surgical incision earlier than expected, i.e. the wound reopening.)
Indications
Suture Strip Plus is indicated for the primary closure of superficial, even-edged, low-tension wounds. It can be used on small surgical incisions, biopsy sites, wounds following laser/dermatological procedures, small traumatic cuts and wound lines that need additional support after suturing. It is also preferred after suture removal, or as an alternative to sutures, in clinical situations where the aim is to keep the wound edges stable and reduce the risk of dehiscence.

How to use
- 01
Assess the wound
Make sure the wound is superficial, even-edged and suitable for primary closure; check for active bleeding and signs of infection.
- 02
Cleanse and dry
Clean the skin around the wound with a suitable solution and dry it completely; remove hair from the surrounding skin if necessary.
- 03
Approximate the wound edges
Gently bring the wound edges together to achieve anatomical alignment.
- 04
Apply the strips
Place Suture Strip Plus perpendicular to the wound line, starting from one end; secure the edges by adhering the strip to the opposite side with slight tension. Leave equal spacing between the strips.
- 05
Reinforce if necessary
For long wounds or wounds under tension, reinforce with additional strips; apply a suitable protective dressing or bandage over them.
- 06
Follow-up and changes
The strips are generally left in place until they fall off on their own; reassess if early opening, redness or separation occurs.
