Manuka honey, derived from the Leptospermum scoparium plant, has long been used in wound care. Its high osmolarity supports drawing fluid from the wound surface, while its low pH contributes to keeping the wound bed acidic. Together, these two properties support autolytic debridement and the maintenance of a moist wound environment.
ManukaMed combines medical-grade manuka honey with different carriers to form a product family: a gel applied directly, a honey-impregnated dressing and a superabsorbent fiber.
The source and traceability of the honey set the brand apart. The products are made with honey harvested from manuka forests near the production facility in New Zealand, and every batch is tested in a laboratory accredited under ISO 17025.
